Phillip “ImperialHal” Dosen is one of the most well-known professional players in the Apex Legends community. He’s the fourth highest-earning Apex player as of December 2022 and consistently finishes in the top three in a variety of high-profile tournaments.

TSM’s superstar didn’t rise to fame overnight, though. He has a strong background in tactical shooters: prior to playing Apex, ImperialHal was already grinding to be the best in games like H1Z1 and Fortnite. He was a part of Cloud9’s H1Z1 squad in 2018. Aside from dominating tournaments with his squad, ImperialHal also streams frequently on his Twitch channel.

If you’re looking to improve in Apex, mimicking the settings of one of the most successful players in the game can be a good start. Keep in mind that all of these settings are subject to personal preference, though. Using ImperialHal’s settings as a jumping-off point for your own rather than as a rigid guideline is a good middle ground.

Here are ImperialHal’s Apex Legends settings and keybinds.

ImperialHal’s video settings

Most of ImperialHal’s video settings look similar to those of other pros. The TSM pro moves away from the norm slightly by turning up his Model Detail setting to high. Players looking to copy these settings should keep in mind that he plays with a fully-equipped gaming PC. If setting your own Model Detail to high results in an FPS drop, there’s no shame in lowering it.
