Riot drops first-in-game look at HEARTSTEEL LoL skins—and they’re stunning

Ezreal cements his legacy as the best soft boi.

Hot off the heels of debut song PARANOIA, HEARTSTEEL’s stellar entrance to the world of League of Legends continues. In a 96-second trailer released by Riot Games earlier today, we now have our first in-game look at their upcoming skins.

Following in the footsteps of fellow character-based group K/DA, HEARTSTEEL hit the ground running with their bombastic beats and outrageous visuals. The official music video for PARANOIA has already racked up 5.7 million views in the space of 24 hours but still has a long way to go before touching the popularity of K/DA’s POP/STARS and MORE

We covered our thoughts on the genre-bending sensation here. Today is all about how HEARTSTEEL will appear in League itself. The trailer oozes with Riot’s signature production quality, offering us up-close shots of the six lads in action. Accompanying each spotlight is a fun fact card for each member. Ezreal, for example, is apparently “always out of phone storage.” Brother, I relate. These tidbits further endear each member to a public that already adores them.

An instrumental version of PARANOIA only serves to build the hype for these skins, concluding with a dynamic pose from all six members as a red nexus is destroyed in the background. Logic dictates that one of them must have been a traitorous member of the blue team. We’ll try and get a comment from Riot on what appears to be clear toxic behavior.

Joking aside, you’d be hard-pressed to find someone who isn’t looking forward to their Nov. 8 release date. “This shit looks so fire,” said Twitter user @Dalletf031, “makes me wanna play Ezreal again.” Ultimately, that’s all you could ask for from skins. If they look great and encourage players to give the characters another go then that’s surely mission complete.

Every one of these boys will be landing in the Epic category with the lone exception being Kayn who will be placed in Legendary. That means, should you want to purchase the red-eyed rapper’s drip, it will set you back a cool 1820 RP. Everybody else will be yours to keep for 1350 RP. Yone is also getting some special treatment in the form of a Prestige variant. This will cost 100 Prestige Points.

Should you want a longer, less cinematic look at the lads, Riot has also posted individual skin walkthroughs in a compilation on Twitter. That can be viewed below.

HEARTSTEEL arrives alongside Patch 13.22 and as part of the World Championship celebrations. I fear for my wallet as much as I fear for everyone else’s.
