The Halo Infinite challenge system is a core part of how Spartans earn the XP necessary to level up their battle passes throughout the season. But beyond just XP, Halo Infinite adds an additional reward to incentivize players to complete weekly challenges: the Ultimate Reward.

Players who complete all of their challenges in any given week and then finish a final capstone challenge can earn a free piece of cosmetic loot.

The free reward rotates every week, and only rarely do these cosmetics have the chance to return at a later date. If an Ultimate Reward catches your eye, it’s important to log on and get to grinding before you miss your opportunity to add it to your collection.

This week’s Ultimate Reward in Halo Infinite is a new nameplate: Wraith Invader. In both its name and its distinct pixel style, this is a nameplate that pays tribute to the retro gaming classics. Whether it’s for that style alone that this nameplate catches your eye, or you’re just a big fan of Halo’s vehicles generally, this is a great freebie to pick up and spice up your profile.

Thanks to the changes to the Ultimate Reward system in season five, unlocking the Wraith Invader nameplate will also grant you access to use it as an emblem on your guns, armor, and vehicles as well.

Halo Infinite is now in season five, Reckoning, and a lot of sweeping changes have come to the Ultimate Rewards system to make it more rewarding overall for those who take the time to get all of their challenges done week in, week out.

In a change mainly designed around improving the battle pass, 343 updated Halo Infinite’s backend to allow single reward nodes to give out multiple bundled rewards. This has allowed them to cut the battle pass down from 100 tiers to 50 tiers by putting all copies of one coating or emblem into one tier, but it also has ramifications for Ultimate Rewards. Now when you earn emblems or coatings here, they will also be for all cores, weapons, or emblem locations.

The weekly Ultimate Reward can be anything, ranging from weapon coatings and player stances to charms and new Spartan armor coatings.

343 said before season two’s launch that it wanted Halo Infinite‘s Ultimate Rewards to feel like a worthy prize for the time invested into the weekly challenges, and the devs have made strides to make the rewards more regularly impactful season over season—fewer emblems and backdrops, more of the stuff players want.

During Operations, the weekly reward can also be themed around that event, whether that’s armor pieces or coatings specific to a core introduced through the Operation or just a weapon charm inspired by iconography from that event.

Complete all of your weekly challenges and the capstone challenge prior to the daily reset on Tuesdays at 1pm CT to acquire the Ultimate Reward.
